Meet Dr. Jose Silverio
About Jose A. Silverio, DDS, MS
From a young age, I knew I wanted a career where I could work with my hands, connect with people, and make a real difference in their lives. Dentistry was the perfect fit. Over the years, that initial passion has only grown—shaped by my experiences, mentors, and the many patients who’ve trusted me with their care.
I was born and raised in Miami, Florida, a vibrant and diverse city that taught me the importance of community and culture. Later, I moved to the Dominican Republic, where I earned my first DDS degree from Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña in 2016. My early career included both private practice and public health service, giving me a deep appreciation for the needs of different populations and the value of accessible dental care.
After returning to the U.S., I completed the International Dental Program at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, earning my second DDS in 2022. That path eventually led me to the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, where I completed a Graduate Periodontics Residency and received my Master’s in Periodontics in May 2025. This residency was an incredibly valuable experience, sharpening both my clinical skills and my ability to think critically through complex cases.
Recently, I’ve planted new roots here in the Lehigh Valley. Allentown, Pennsylvania has already made a strong impression on me with its welcoming spirit, vibrant culture, and diverse population. I’m excited to immerse myself fully in this community and to contribute my skills to help meet its periodontal needs. It is an honor to serve this region, and I look forward to building lasting relationships with my patients and professional colleagues.

We’re thrilled to celebrate Dr. Jose Silverio’s graduation from periodontal school! His hard work, dedication, and passion for patient care have brought him to this exciting milestone. Please join us in welcoming him as the newest associate at our practice alongside Dr. Gradwell. We’re proud to have him on the team and look forward to the great work ahead!
I want to share with you one of the most rewarding things I have ever done in my life. I met this young man the first time I went to Malawi Africa on a medical mission trip of which I was the only dentist to every work in the Zomba region. I met Wellington on this mission trip and he was a dental therapist who worked alongside of me doing dental treatment. Before I left Malawi he asked me to sponsor him to go to dental school. The story is too long for this post but 5 years later he graduated from dental school in Uganda and he and his family returned to Malawi ( you can read thru our Office Happenings page to see more details of this story). I purchased a dental facility for him a year ago in a professional office building and today his dental practice is growing. He still does many hours of community service to help the very needy in the Malawian villages while he continues in private practice. Wellington his wife Takondwa and daughter Fumni have us as their American family as we support them in every capacity necessary.
This video is just one example of how he is affecting the lives of his people with his God given talents.
